iDashboards does have the ability to build dashboards off of your SalesForce data. Due to the complexity of the data structure iDashboards recommends a sync of the data back to a localized database to improve the performance of your dashboard. Below are two different connection methods that allow you to create that synchronized environment.
When using the DBAmp connection you can be configured for a real-time query or for a synchronized environment. As previously mentioned the support team does recommend the synchronized method as external network performance and server load would not be a concern.
When using the CData Sync connection your SalesForce data will be synchronized to a local database, this connection type leverages the SalesForce API. This database is then connected to iDashboards for access to your data. When using the CData connection iDashboards does NOT offer a pre-built set of dashboards and charts.
