The Microsoft Excel .xlsx type spreadsheet data is not accessible when building a chart in the User console. The .xlsx spreadsheet may even be visible in the iDashboards Excel Autodirectory.
You may also find that Microsoft Access .accdb type databases are not accessible in the User console even though the data source was created.
iDashboards needs to run in a 32-bit application server when installed on a Microsoft Windows operating system in order to work with the .xlsx Excel spreadsheets or the .accdb Access databases. Not all Windows operating systems have the native drivers installed in order to be able to access these file types.
When working with Excel data sources with a .xlsx extension or Access database data sources, it may be necessary to download and install updated MIcrosoft drivers in order to be able to see these data sources when building charts.
Please make sure to install the Office 2007 32-bit AccessDatabaseEngine.exe even if you have a 64-bit system.
You can download the drivers from the following link:
The Office 2007 AccessDatabaseEngine.exe drivers have been found to be more reliable for iDashboards data sources. The Office 2010 AccessDatabaseEngine.exe drivers is not as stable.
If you already have installed the Office 2010 version of the AccessDatabaseEngine.exe please uninstall and reinstall the Office 2007 version of the AccessDatabaseEngine.exe.
You might to restart the system for the above changed to take effect.
iDashboards only supports the Office 2007 32-bit AccessDatabaseEngine.exe drivers.
