Summary:
iDashboards can successfully connect to a Microsoft SQL Server database as Data Source using a JDBC driver ('JTDS' is recommended).
With this connection to MS SQL Server, one has the ability to not just pull data directly from the database tables and views by column mapping or by writing custom SQL queries, it also gives the ability to derive data from that Data Source's Stored Procedures and Functions. The attached documents elaborates on this topic and shows detail step by step instructions on how to derived data from a Stored Procedure and a Function of a MS SQL Server Data Source.
The example is based on AdventureWorks 2008 database.
